Aparan, is a town in Armenia, located in the Aragatsotn Province. The town is located 42 km north of Yerevan
It is commonly believed that the name of Aparan is derived from the Armenian word of Aparank: meaning a royal palace.
Aparan was known as Bash Aparan until 1935.
Aparan is famous for the production of rugs and carpets. The town is an important centre for dairy products as well.
Every year on May 28 celebration marked the anniversary of the Battle of Bash Aparan town .
